Soon after the 2018 football World Cup, a new trend started to grip the tier-III cities. In just about 8 months after the World Cup, more than 150 of these football turfs opened their doors in our small city of Calicut, targeting the adrenaline junkies who are motivated by the likes of Cristiano and Messi. We (Shamnas, Amjad and Nishad) were a small group of ardent football fans and were having a casual discussion with one of the turf owners after hearing about the difficulties in managing new and current bookings using a manual ledger. This triggered us to come up with a solution that will help both the turf owners and their customers alike. We called it Playspots.
The platform was efficacious in boosting the average number of bookings in a sports facility up to 30%, by leveraging the benefits of AI to properly target the customers with exciting offers and discounts. The turf owners are now free from all the headaches of manual booking keeping with Playspots. Moreover we are going to capitalize on the troves of data on our platform using advanced data analytics.
Our aim is to maximize the benefits of the consumers as well as the ROI of sport facility owners. We have data of over 50,000 users and will be using data analytics to increase bookings by suggesting value offers and precise targeting.
This year we are planning to expand the platform to badminton courts and other sporting facilities. Taking the platform to other parts of the country is something which is top of our agenda.10
